Are you aware of the theories of 2012 Mayan Prophecies? As far as most people are concerned, a theory remains to be a theory unless an event occurs to prove the theory is right. This goes for the 2012 theory as well. The Mayan Calendar is an extremely accurate assessment of phases and distinctive events. It holds a lot of information about the Mayan culture as well as the controversial explanation of distinct events.

The 2012 Mayan Prophecies state that the end of the entire world will occur on December 12, 2012. This foretelling is based on the Mesoamerican start charting that began in the early 680 B.C. The Mayans are generally very adept in tracking winter solstice and gifted in making calendars.

The Mayans are an exceptionally bright peoples, adept in creating calendars of their own. their calendar is called The Long Count. The Mayans mainly use their own careful observations to determine coming events such as how the stars move about the sky. Did you know that the Ancient Mayans were the first to discover the effect of the earth’s wobbling when it spins on its own axis? They were also aware of many celestial things that have only recently been discovered through science.

Besides the Mayans, there are many other predictions that say that the world will come to an end in December 2012. The explanations vary from disasters, such as major cosmic catastrophe, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, wars and other extraordinary events culminating on December 12, 2012. Even Nostradamus had a lot to say regarding 2012. due to this it seems that one should seriously consider the facts behind the theories.

If you are concerned about the events of 2012 mentioned in Mayan Calendar you should take action. Do your own research to determine what you believe. You may determine that there really isn’t much to the predictions and then move on and let December 2012 come and go without much further thought. on the other hand, maybe you’ll decide that there is enough evidence that something significant will happen in December 2012 that you should make some type of preparations. What we do know for certain is that December 21, 2012 is going to come and go and whatever is going to happen on or around that day is going to happen, regardless of what we believe. Lately i have found myself totally amazed by the whole controversy about the world ending in 2012. Everything about it grabs my attention. I love reading aboutit, not because i want the world to end but because i love the subject and the mystery of it. I just want some feed back to see what everyone else is thinking.

They did not predict the world would end. this is just when the calendar ends. our calendars end every year. Even if they did, they have no special insight into anything. In fact, they have a worse insight because they are an ancient civilization.

You didn't check the sources of this information did you? for example: do you even know the actual person who started all things about 2012? I do. his name is Jose Arguelles. and he doesn't ever mention the world ending or anything like it. the 2012 Business is completely full of Charlatans stealing your time, attention, and money.

I don't think anything will happen. They keep making all these crap decisions on life, and 3 in 4 of them are not true.

Maybe. BUT, the Mayans didn't predict the world would end. its merely the end of one of their many cycles they tracked. this particular one is the end of the long count. But, the world could end at any time for many reasons, Asteroid impact, climate change, etc. and there is nothing you can do about it. I suggest you don't worry about it.

It's a long count calender, When calenders end, the world doesn't end with them.. they simply restart. I do believe the world will end one day, but it's ridiculous to put a specific date on it.

I am also curious about it and I heard so far almost all Mayans' predictions are correct.
But, about world ending in 2012, I do not want to believe it. I want to believe that the world will still continue go on. There are too many things that I haven't yet done.
However, there is a positive side of this prediction. maybe if people think that the world is going to end, they will be better person because they know that they do not have much time left. Also, people are going to realise that life is fragile, we do not know when we will die, which means we have to use our time&life wisely and reflect more about ourselves.

Well there's been several others that have said the wolrd is going to end in 2012 besides the Mayans, before they eve n new about what the myans predicted….

Lots of silly people who’ve no grasp of the Mayan calendar think this, plus those daft enough to take as gospel truth a recent film that's just been made about it. if people take it as seriously a they did the ridiculous 'Da Vinci Code' film, millions more will start thinking this nonsense is true.

The film is cashing in on drivel written about the Mayan calendar that went no further than the equivalent of our year 2012. A tablet was discovered in the 1960s in Tortuguero, Southern Mexico. it had an inscription depicting the end of the current Long Count in 2012 and describes the descent of Bolon Yokte, a Mayan deity associated with both war and creation. the tablet includes the phrase "he will descend from the sky". But the next bit suffered the ravages of erosion and a crack in the stone made the end of the passage illegible. Enter the film-makers…

Other pieces of Mayan archaeology foretell events as occurring as late as our 4772, however. Therefore we may relax as it is obvious the film-makers have chosen not to take this more optimistic bit of information into account. On the other hand, nobody knows when Jesus Christ will return to earth to usher in the Day of Judgement. It's never a good idea to attach more importance to film-makers than to the words of warning of the Son of God. Check out what he said in the gospel of Luke. it has a brilliant ending!

To some people there is a "mystery" in how a clock works. Trust me, it's not that hard to figure out. you got a pendulum… you got a weight. Every time the pendulum swings it releases a "pallet" which lets an "escapement", which has tension from the weight, pop forward one click. the rest is details.

The 2012 stories are just a series of hoaxes, starting with a misinterpretation of the Mayan calendar and ending with any lame BS someone can make up and tack on, like a Senator stuffing a Bill with yet another piece of pork.

Will the world really come to an end on December 21, 2012? the Mayan were noted for their astronomical and mathematical systems and used several different calendars. Their “Long Count” Calendar stops on December 21, 2012 and that has caused many to speculate that the Mayans had determined that the world as we know it will come to an end on that date and consequently felt that there was no need to continue their “Long Count” Calendar after that date. however, no one really knows for sure! the discussion and speculation on what will or will not happen in December 2012 will almost certainly increase as we draw closer to that date. however, I think it is safe to say that natural disasters (hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, tsunamis, etc) will always be with us, and a prudent person would at least be prepared for them.

Fortunately, whether you are preparing for the December 2012 Mayan end of the World or the natural disasters that might/will occur where you live, the four basic steps for being ready are the same. Additionally, preparing for either crisis will help you be prepared for the other. the four main steps to getting ready are: Psyche, plan, Prepare, and Practice.

1. Psyche – This is an extremely important step that is often overlooked in “how to be ready” disaster guides. Everything that you will do in a disaster/end of the world situation starts there. You need to prepare yourself mentally for the surprise, confusion, danger, and sometimes difficult decisions that come with a severe crisis. take some time to think through the possible scenarios of what might or might not happen and what decisions you would make. I personally think of this as practicing “What If?”. This will help prepare you and your “psyche” for the real thing. being in the right frame of mind during a crisis will help you make the right decisions and perhaps even ensure you and your family’s survival!

2. plan – Planning is the step that we are all most comfortable with. we each perform this step multiple times each day. What makes this step difficult in planning for a disaster situation is that most of us have never been in each of the crises that we will need to plan for. So what we have to rely on in our planning is what we have read about or heard from others. take the time to do this research as you prepare your “crisis plan”. with the internet, you are now able to quickly access a great deal of information on most types of crises that might confront you.

3. Prepare – This step is too often postponed after we have thought through and completed our planning. Often because it requires a financial commitment as most of us have some but not all of the survival items that will be needed. once you have completed the planning step, you should have a pretty good idea of what “survival gear” you will need. Don’t be surprised if you have overlooked several items that you will need – - we all do! next, knowing what items you already have, start purchasing/obtaining and storing the items you do not already have. I keep all of my survival supplies in one area of my garage so I’ll know exactly where they are when/if I need them.

4. Practice – This is the last step and is another step that is too often overlooked. Practice using those items of survival gear that you think you will need to use in a crisis situation. For example: If you believe you will need to use a firestarter to start your fires, practice making a fire with it until you feel comfortable using the firestarter. or if your plan includes driving to a secluded piece of property that you own and staying there until the crisis is over, take the time to figure out the best route to take (assuming clogged roads and stalled vehicles) and then drive your planned route to see if you have overlooked something. Don’t wait until you are in the midst of the crisis/disaster!

Specifically, they had two calendars known as the Haab and the Tzolk’in made up of 365 days and 260 days respectively. when combined together the two calendars rotate in a large cycle that encompasses 52 years. the Mayans believed that the calendar could foretell important events to occur in the future, so in many ways they subscribed to a sort of astrology. however, their astronomy was quite advanced as well. And it is for these reasons that people are beginning to pay so much attention to it today.

The Mayans organized their calendars according to what they called “counts.” the long count makes up a unit of time of over 5,000 years. the reason that there has been so much written about the year 2012 is that the Mayan long count will expire in that year. the date December 21, 2012 represents the end of the Mayan long count and many people believe that it signifies that something rather important will happen on that date.

However, there is no way to know exactly what will happen in the future. And there is particularly no way to predict any event on a particular day such as December 21, 2012. therefore the question becomes one of faith and is therefore open to interpretation.

What exactly is the Mayan calendar 2012 and who are the Mayans? the Mayan are a group of people who lived thousands of years ago in what is now modern day Mexico. if there is one thing that you need to know about the Mayans is that they are great astrologers, scholars and mathematicians. Is the World going to end soon? Do I need to go ahead and cash in my saving and buy a something cool? many people in this world believe that the Mayans were extremely ahead of their time and the Mayan calendar is a perfect example of this. I hope in this article to shed some light on the what the calender is, how it affects you, and the future it predicts.

What is the Mayan Calendar?

What we call The Mayan Calendar is actually two different calenders (the Tzolk’in and the Haab) that work together. The Tzolk’in is a calendar that consists of 260 days while the Haab is a calendar that consists of 365 days. together the calendars make a cycle of 52 years known as a Calendar Round.

So How does this Affect You?

Is the world going to end in 2012? I can not tell you yes or no. All I can do is show you what I have found in my research. I am nothing more than a guide to present the fact and let you make up your mind for yourself. I learned a ton from a book called 2012 Predictions and the website that is in the resource box.
