Spirituality

BTW , I never said you should let science become your dogma or your God and its not what it is to me. If at some point there would be a reasonable evidence for a God, or ghosts or any kind of supernatural I would stop being an Atheist. But so far there is no evidence for such thing and no acceptable reason for me to believe it. Also, though I do love Astronomy and Cosmology , I don’t revere nature. Now DANCE !

spirituality is NOT bad, and not dangerous.
However, blind faith and religion is…it’s really as simple as that

Shes not atheist, shes a witch. Just look at her necklace, ankh of chakrah.

Criss, I quite like all your movies, but I do have to add my voice to what others have said here: if you think “spirituality” is vampires, astrology, witchcraft, etc., then you’ve been misinformed. The latter are closer to superstition than to spirituality. Spirituality is about wondering whether there are other steps beyond what we have reached in the cognitive realm… which, as hypothesis go, is not a bad one.

GET IN THE BAG GYPSY !!! Jk jk jk!!!
    :-D

So because one person chooses to believe in spirituali things for silly girly reasons means they all do?

Also I find the camera angle thing with the gestures used as a method of brainwashing or persuasion is a bit wrong since you’re supposed to be uncovering the truth by fact only… it’s almost like yelling louder than someone else…

I think you should look more into spirituality. To move away from the materialism or Western Society, and the Xtian mindset in which you were raised, you might find Sufism
offers a great deal. It has no elements of Idolatry. It is a branch of Suni Islam, but the Sunis hate them. The Sufis are deeply spiritual, and very tolerant. They are at the other end from Saudi Wahabism, which is a form of extreme hatred.
From Islam you might say? Take a look.

what bothers me about this lady is that she’s a stereotype that thinks everything happens randomly and despises anything that violates the atheist religion.

  17. Cavin21 says:

Science and spirituality can coexist, if you are honest with yourself you’d realize that the laws of physics is always balancing energy, one day you might be miserable and the next you will be happy.. Might just be coincidence, but just if the universe is sophisticated enough then it will give everyone a chance to experience the harmony and beauty of life

Watch “Enemys of reason” by Richard Dwarkins on youtube a documentry about spirituality and how Mr Dwarkins thinks it’s useless and dangerous.

  20. TheNothingexists says:

Spiritualty as you call it is not as harmless as you would think. It’s nothing more than a money making scam used to exploit vunrable people. And theres absolutely no proof that non scientific self help books work. Also you said ” don’t let science become your dogma or your god”. You obviously don’t understand the nature of science. A dogma is something you believe blindly and without question. Science on the other hand is about looking at all possibilitys and keeping an open mind.

  21. TheNothingexists says:

I agree, but remember sometimes a persons religion is all that keeps them going. Sometimes when a person loses there faith they lose everything because it’s all they’ve got like a marrage break up. It can sometimes have positive effects on people as well as negative. Please consider this. If you take it from them you leave them empty. Sometimes it’s nessesery to criticise religion but i think it should be done with gentleness and respect.

  22. svtcontour says:

@dischordia23 True, yes I think I was confusing things. I didnt mean that there were things outside of our universe, just that there may be things we will discover as we learn more. In this video for example, the talk about negative or positive energy, well sure, it may seem like bunk now, but what if there is something that we will discover in the future that can explain what people consider positive and negative energy. We just need to keep an open mind and consider possibilities.

  23. dischordia23 says:

@svtcontour No reality (how the universe works) is not changing. Technology is. We could have been flying thousands of years ago if the prerequisite discoveries had been made. Birds sure were. They is no super-natural or meta-physical. The nature of the universe is, well, natural. We will learn a great deal more about how the world works–how to understand, describe and even utilize it. But Existence doesn’t have an ‘outside’–even if we haven’t discovered all they layers yet.

  24. svtcontour says:

Also reality is ever changing. Could we have ever imagined a thousand years ago that we would be flying in the sky or in space in enormous machines? No, but we are today. So as we learn and progress, we can envision new possibilities. Science is not static so just because something is not proven yet, does not rule out possibilities even if it is metaphysical.

  25. svtcontour says:

Do we as humans know everything? No. Has science always been right about everything? No. People believed in all kinds of things that were incorrect and later corrected. World being flat..etc. It is very possible that things do exist that our current science cannot yet measure or prove.
