Polar Shift

Polar shift is a theory that has received wide support since its inception. In the past, the theory served to explain the bewildering global climate changes, nowadays it is the focal point of many scientific investigations.

In theory, polar shift is triggered by uneven weight distribution on the surface of the earth. Early theorists suggest that this could be caused by the formation of the massive blocks of ice in either North Pole or South Pole. This could then lead to a disturbance on the planet’s axis.

If the weight is sufficient to turn the Earth over, say a number of theorists, the planet will continue to rotate itself until the weight is redistributed near the center or the equator. This ends up with the shifting of the locations of the continents – the North and South Poles may exchange with those regions in the equator and vice versa. Based on this theory, the otherwise slow drift of the Earth’s crust will happen so very quickly that everything can change overnight.

Although the theory is quite fascinating, in actuality it is not as attractive, it can in fact be very drastic.

This imbalance in the planetary weight of the earth has been contemplated by many geniuses as far back as 1842 when Joseph Adhmar, a famous French mathematician, proposed that continuous erosion of the polar ice caps can lead to a sudden collapse of massive areas in the arctic. This in turn will change the center of the Earth’s gravity and will cause catastrophes that could spell the end of mankind.

Magnetic Pole Reversal

Magnetic pole reversal is a very different theory that is oftentimes confused with polar shift. This, in fact, is a widely accepted theory in the scientific community because of the validity of its claims and the presence of evidence to support it.

Magnetic pole reversal refers to the actual flip in the magnetic pole of the Earth. In magnetic pole reversal, the movement of the molten iron situated in the outer core of the Earth can cause changes in the planet’s magnetic field. This phenomenon results in the change of location of Aurora on top of other strange activities. Scientists fear that this can also lead to the further weakening of the Earth’s magnetic field which also acts as shield against cosmic rays and heavenly bodies, eventually exposing the planet to phenomenon that may threaten the life in it. Overall, though, life will continue as it is.

Experts say that magnetic pole reversal and pole shift are phenomenon that are not likely to happen overnight, but over a course of several thousand even hundreds of years. 2012 magnetic polar reversal, therefore, may be nothing more than a hype, but who knows really?

There are some shows on the ABC network that have attained iconic status with many fans. One of these shows is the V(2009) show that is a sci-fi show which started airing from November, 2009. The origin of the show was way back in 1983, when the show started as a miniseries and was created by Kenneth Johnson. Since then, a lot of people wanted to see the show again, due to which this new 2009 version of V was started.

The plot of the V (2009) show is quite racy and being a science fiction series, it takes a look at the arrival on earth of an aliens species. This species is quite advanced and it comes in peace or so is thought initially when the aliens make their appearance. But it is seen later and suspected by Erica Evans who is an FBI agent. She suspects and tries to delve into the aliens real intentions and finds to her horror that the aliens have infiltrated various sections of society, the government as well as even religious centers. This is why Erica joins forces with a counter alien force. This is the main plot of V (2009).

The cast of V (2009) includes the role of Erica Evans which is played by Elizabeth Mitchell. The role of Ryan Nichols is played by Morris Chestnut where Ryan is one of the Visitors. Joel Gretsch plays the role of Father Jack Landry who is one of the counter alien’s forces.
